FAQ's

  • How long are your tours and experiences?  Every tour and experience is different, but the average time is about 2.5 hrs.  Sometimes tours may run over or finish up a little early based on group size and walking speed. Check the “What to Expect” section under each tour or experience for an approximate length. 

  • How long are the Going Local Picnics? Our picnics are about 2hrs long, but can be extended for a fee.  

  • Are children welcome on the tours?  Most of our Tours and Experiences are Adult focused, but our Sweets, Treats and Tales Tour could be an option if you don’t mind a child all hopped up on sugar. Your call. Going Local assumes no responsibility for the sugar high your child may or may not exhibit at the end of the tour. 

  • I have allergies/dietary restrictions. What do I do?  Before booking, please contact us to make sure we can accommodate any allergies or food restrictions.  

  • Are masks required?  If you are fully vaccinated, you are not required to wear a mask.

  • Are Gratuities Included? Any location we visit that requires tipping will be taken care of by Going Local.  We also know some people like to leave a little extra sometimes and always support that to help the local staff.

  • What about Tipping the Guide? If you had a great time on your tour or experience and want to show your Tour Guide some love, a tip is always appreciated! 

  • What is the appropriate tip amount for the guide? Most guidebooks and American Express suggest 20% of the full tour price as a point of reference.

  • Do you offer Private Tours?  Yes! We know not everyone is comfortable yet stepping out of their Social Bubble so we offer the option to book out a specific Tour date so its just you and your group! Get together your family or friends and get out in a fun safe way and support your local businesses!

  • Do you offer Custom Tours?  Yes! We love to create and customize any tour or experience to fit what you’re looking for! We can create day trips, overnights, or just a few hours depending on what you’re looking for. Contact us and let us know!

  • Can you offer tours on dates not listed?  We try our best to accommodate any request and will work with you to find a date and time that works for you.  Contact us and let us know what you’re looking for.

  • How do you help Support Local Business?  We connect people to local business by creating tours and experiences that focus on the local businesses in the area and bring attention through their stories and tastes! We believe so many of us are guilty of passing by some really great local places and not knowing their story.  It is amazing how connected you feel to a place once you get to know its background and try some of their products!

  • What is your cancellation policy?  See our Terms and Conditions page

  • Do you cancel tours due to weather?  We never like to cancel any tour or experience, but also take the safety and comfort of our guests into consideration.  Please look for an email or phone call for any tours that need to be cancelled or contact us anytime for information.

  • What if its raining?  Light rain won't melt us, but if its a heavy thunderstorm, we may cancel the tour so make sure to contact us or look for an email or call from us.

  • If my friends already booked a tour and I want to book it too and be grouped with them, can I?  Yes! just send us an email after booking and we will do our best to accommodate you!
